Commonly called the Lurol Festival, this festival a celebration of Rebkong’s cultural diversity. Laya Gasa trek route starts at Drukgyal Dzong in Paro and ends at Damji in Gasa. It passes through thick sub-tropical forests, mountain passes, and alpine meadows. Along the way we can see Mt. Gangkar Punsum and several snow-capped mountain peaks. The 271-km trail takes 14 days. Frequent steep ascents and descents make the trek one of the more difficult ones offered in Bhutan.
