After a short city tour in Kathmandu, we will transit to the city of Devotees, Bhaktapur 14km away. This historical city covers traditions, festivals and colourful celebrations and considered to be a great symbol of Nepal. It’s wooden and stone craft work, architechtural temples with beautiful ponds, mask dance with typical Newari music makes the city lively.

Itinerary – Kathmandu and Bhaktapur City Tour

Day 1. Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, meet, assist and transfer to the hotel. At the hotel’s lobby welcome refreshments will be served and room check in assistance provided. Evening: Pre departure trip briefing followed by welcome dinner at a Nepali restaurant featuring cultural program. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2. Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu City and Drive to Dhulikhel, 32kms / 1 & ½ Hours

Morning: After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu City. It includes visit to the Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu Durbar Square) – an ancient durbar (palace) with its numerous old palaces, temples and pagodas, the Temple of Living Goddess “Kumari”, and the Kasthamandap Temple, which is believed to be constructed from the wood of a single tree from which Kathmandu derives its name. Also visit the Boudhanath Stupa – an ancient colossal stupa and the center of Tibetan Buddhism in the world and the Pashupatinath Temple – the Temple of Lord Shiva situated on the bank of the holy Bagmati River.

Afternoon: After lunch, start one & half hours drive to Dhulikhel – ancient Newari town situated 32 km east of Kathmandu and has spectacular views of the Himalayas.

Evening: Spend a relaxing evening in the resort while enjoying the surrounding views. Overnight: at resort.

Day 3. Sightseeing Tour of Bhaktapur City and Changunarayan Temple

Morning: After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Bhaktapur City and Changu narayan Temple. Bhaktapur City, literally the “City of Devotees”, is renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture, colourful festivals, traditional dances and the typical Newari lifestyle. Here explore the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate, the entrance to the Palace of 55 Windows, known as the most significant piece of art in Nepal.

Then visit the highest temple in the entire Kathmandu Valley – the Nyatapola Temple. Changunarayan Temple is built on a hilltop, which is dated back to the 4th century and considered the oldest temple in Kathmandu valley. In the country yard, among dozens of Vishnu’s statue, the 5th century image with 10 arms is a masterpiece. Listed in the World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, it is also a scenic spot situated at the altitude of about 1700m and 4km to the north of Bhaktapur.

Evening: Farewell dinner at a nice restaurant in Thamel. Overnight: at hotel.

Day 4. Final Departure

Free until final departure transfer to the Tribhuvan International Airport.

  • Sight seeing tour as per itinerary including monumental fees.
  • 2 nights stay at hotel (as above) in Kathmandu on twin room sharing basis including bed and breakfast with taxes.
  • 1 night stay at hotel (as above) in Dhulikhel on twin room sharing basis including breakfast and dinner with taxes.
  • Welcome and farewell dinner in Kathmandu.
  • Complimentary for one tour leader if the no. of full paying pax is 15 or above.

The cost exclude:

  • International Airfares to / from Kathmandu and airport departure taxes.
  • Nepal entry / re-entry visa fee. Read your guide to travelling Nepal for a better holiday plan.
  • Lunch and dinners while guests are in Kathmandu. (Except welcome and farewell dinner)
  • Items of a personal nature such as bar bills, telephone calls, laundry, extra mileage, mineral water and any extra costs incurred due to natural calamities, flight delays etc.
  • Personal insurance, evacuation and medical expenses.
