This trip takes you across mainland China on a visit to the country’s four most important Buddhist holy mountains: Mount Wutai, Mount Jiuhua, Mount Putuo, and Mount Emei. During the trip, you will travel by bullet trains and domestic flights. All arrangements are made in advance to ensure that your journey hassle free. Pilgrimage Tour To 4 Holy Mountains in China Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
Airport pick-up and transfer to hotel by private vehicle. Visit Tainanmen Square. Overnight: Beijing Capital International Airport
Day 2: Beijing Sightseeing Tour – Mount Wutai
Spend the morning visiting the Great Wall and other famous sites in Beijing. Then, take a ride on a private, first-class bus from Beijing West Station to Mount Wutai in Shanxi Province (385km/5hours). Transfer to hotel. Overnight: Wutai Shan Hotel
Day 3: Explore Mount Wutai
Visit famous scenic spots at Mount Wutai, such as the Bodhisattva Summit, Xiantong Monastery, Wuyei Temple, Tayuan Monastery, and Dailu Summit. Overnight: Wu’tai Shan Hotel
Day 4: Explore Mount Wutai
Visit the 5 summits of Mount Wutai. Overnight: Wutai Shan Hotel
Day 5: Drive to Taiyuan, Take Flight to Mount Jiuhua
In the morning drive to Taiyuan. Then take Shen’gzhen Airline ZH8562 to Nanjing (17:45-19:35), a prefecture-level city on the east coast. Take a private bus to Mount Jiuhua, or Riwo Zegu (240km/3hours). Check in Hotel. Overnight: Fenghuang Hotel
Day 6: Explore Mount Jiuhua
Full day pilgrimage to Mount Jiuhua (Riwo Zegu). Overnight: Fenghuang hotel
Day 7: Mount Jiuhua (Riwo Zegu) – Nanjing – Ningbo – Mount Putuo (Riwo Druzin)
Drive back to Nanjing early in the morning and take bullet train G1966 to Ningbo (10:58-13:42), a city in Zhejiang Province in the northeast. Take bus to Mount Putuo, or Riwo Druzin (103km). Overnight: FoGuo Yizhan Hotel
Day 8: Explore Mount Putuo
Pilgrimage tour around Mount Putuo (Riwo Druzin). Overnight: FoGuo Yizhan Hotel
Day 9: Explore Mount Putuo
Pilgrimage tour around Mount Putuo (Riwo Druzin.) Overnight: FoGuo Yizhan Hotel
Day 10: Take Flight To Chengdu
Drive to back to Ningbo. Take Sichuan Airlines flight 3U8928 to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Flight stops in Nanchang for 50 minutes. Overnight: Youle hotel
Day 11: Visit Leshan and Mount Emei
Take the highway to Leshan (around 2.5hours) and enjoy a pilgrimage tour and visit to the site’s famous giant Buddha statue built in the 8th century. Then drive 3 hours to Mount Emei. Overnight: Emeishan Dajiudian
Day 12: Explore Mount Emei
Pilgrimage tour to Mount Emei. Overnight: Xubuyizhan Hotel (Best Choice)
Day 13: Mount Emei – Chengdu
